Tough pick. Of all the great Bacharach/David songs, one that made me smile at the simple American poesy, people talking to each other only they're singing. Jill O'Hara & Jerry Orbach in the hit Broadway show Promises, Promises.  By the late-Sixties Hal & Burt were making the kind of "art that conceals art."
