Happy Birthday, Dave Brubeck
Woman in front of me at CVS pharmacy counter, fiftyish, slim blonde, petite feet in fine heels, perfectly fitted jeans, short denim jacket, I was thinking that she looked pretty darned good, then noticed the Gucci shoulder bag, which I appraised at $1000 minimum. I went to Gucci website. it was in the $1,500 bunch. Don't see too many like her around here.

Are you sure it was real and not a knock off? My associate at work's wife works for Louis Vuitton, and she can tell a fake right off the bat. Funny, my daughter was given a "gift" from the grandma on the father's side, which was supposed to be a LV bag, and it was a total cheap knock off. LV does not do sales, either. Only employees have access to sales. Fortunately for me, my co-worker's wife wears the same size shoes as me, and I have a nice collection of LV shoes (bought on sale, but still very expensive) and a wallet that would have retailed at $900 but probably was discounted to $400 or less for employees. Granted, Gucci and others are less stringent in their control over counterfeit stuff than LV, but I ride the bus, and I am amazed at how many low income evident parties (the ones asking where the Section 8 offices are from the bus driver) are sporting huge LV bags! AS IF!
For the record, we gave away the stupid counterfeit bag that the paternal grandma gave to my daughter. If you are going to give a gift, at least make it real, don't try to pass of counterfeit shit.
