Blog Action Day: Poverty
Right now I got nuttin' done. I have a general theme, but I also have a cold & I can't seem to concentrate on writing for more than a paragraph. I'll just autoblog this now & maybe post the various notes & fragments later. But you can click through the banner & see what else is happening.

"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be." Thomas Jefferson
I'm in a mischievous mood today;-) so here goes...
If every blogger is so concerned with poverty, I suggest that they spend the day offline working in a shelter, soup kitchen, etc. rather than blogging "gee, poverty sucks. Here's what you can do about it."
Sorry, Bob, I just had to take a jab this morning. I'm tired and have a cold.

My theme wasn't harsh poverty (or scenic poverty, as the middle class sees it), but the disappearance of "genteel" poverty, & contempt toward the "working poor." I know people able to maintain reasonably decent "working poor" lifestyles outside of Jersey.
