Atlantic City NJ
Hotel Stanley
Atlantic City is so old, so large, had so many hotels, & generated so many postcards that I could post a different one every day. I know Hotel Stanley survived into my era because it had a nine digit phone number with no letters. It was probably quite shabby by then. In the two decades before casinos, even the newer hotels & motels had the appearances of bad investments from the moment they opened.

the hotel stanley was around until the late 1970's. I worked there in 1974 and 75, and my brother worked there several years prior. we knew the owners and it was a great place, I still have friends who i keep in touch with who stayed there during the summers I worked.
Thanks for the comment. The loss of these stylish hotels, in AC & all along the coast, was tragic. I was a teenager so I wasn't particularly appreciative of what I was seeing, although I knew their time was ending.
