Sen. Ray Lesniak

I'm very proud of my State Senator, Ray Lesniak, for sponsoring & pushing through to passage a bill abolishing the death penalty in New Jersey. The lower house votes on Thursday. Lesniak hasn't often been my favorite Democratic politician, but he brought his heart & considerable power together for this worthy cause.

Comments:
Your proud, huh?

His legislation affects 8 people in New Jersey. The only 8 people on death row. Meanwhile, property tax reform and other more meaningful problems in NJ are left untouched.

When politics is the art of the possible, do what is possible. But sometimes, as John Galbraith said, "Politics is not the art of the possible. It consists in choosing between the disastrous and the unpalatable." Which would apply to property tax reform.
