If Nominated I Will Not Run
Oddly, The Rix Mix was nominated for the Screaming Carrot Best NJ Blog Award at Blue Jersey. It's kind of embarassing: I won't get many votes; & I don't deserve any because this blog pays little attention to Jersey politics, current events, & culture. But six of the nominated blogs are listed in my sidebar, I visit them nearly every day, admire them all, & you ought to go to the above link, register, & vote for one of them.

I just saw this contest for the first time on another blog. I didnt even know they had a contest this year. My NJ blog obviously isn't cultured enough.:)

I have no idea why I didn't blogroll you before today, but you're blogrolled at Blanton's and Ashton's now. I am sorry I didn't do it sooner.

This is actually the second year in which the Screaming Carrot is being awarded for Best NJ Blog. The name is somewhat deceptive because it is really for blogs that do a lot of political blogging, and no non-progressive blog is ever nominated. If you think your blog is political enough, you could always nominate your self when next year's award comes around.
Also, as with The Rix Mix, my own site is not really about New Jersey politics but, instead, mostly about national politics with occasional Jersey-centric postings (usually when it is close to election time). That doesn't matter to BlueJersey. In the interest of transparency, I should add that I am a front page blogger at BlueJersey, which is why I know so much about this crap.

Hank at Channel Surfing nominated me, I suspect as a nod from one poet to another, which I much appreciated. But I didn't think The Rix Mix qualified. The Jersey "politics" I most enjoy are tales of Nucky Johnson & Frank Hague.
