Absecon NJ

Absecon Beach Camp
Watch for the mosquitoes & green flies.
Here's another version of this folksy postcard.

Obviously later, not only by the cars, but by the redevelopment of the front lot AND the building out of the river/lake. It's now a thin stream and a pond, with what looks like a large land park.

I have pretty good idea of where it was; in a tidal swamp on what was then a main highway into Atlantic City, where every stunted tree & thorny bush had poison ivy choking it, & thick clouds of ravenous mosquitoes swarmed by night. But odds were good that the ship restaurant served fresh local crabs. Unfortunately, nearly all those oddball kinds of roadside structures are gone now.
